E-Commerce Experience for Designer Chairs

Not all chairs are created equal—some are icons of design, blending artistry with functionality. Cheers for Chairs is an online store dedicated exclusively to designer chairs, offering a selection for those who appreciate craftsmanship and aesthetics.

Research & Inspiration

At the start of this project, I explored different e-commerce ideas: groceries, shoes, cosmetics but none felt quite right. I wanted something that blended design, functionality, and storytelling, and that’s when designer chairs stood out.

To refine the vision, I researched brands like Herman Miller, IKEA, and HAY, studying how they present their products online. Sites like Design Within Reach(DWR) and Chairish helped me understand how high-end furniture e-commerce works, from clean layouts to seamless user flows. These insights shaped the foundation of Cheers for Chairs, ensuring an experience that feels as refined as the products themselves.

IKEA takes a mass-market approach, displaying as many products as possible on one screen, using bold sans-serif fonts and eye-catching tags to make shopping feel fast and efficient.

DWR, on the other hand, embraces a luxury aesthetic, showcasing fewer but larger images with white space, using serif fonts for a more refined and exclusive feel.
