A stop-motion animation that captures the emotions of longing, connection and self-discovery through illustrations and voiceover storytelling

I created this stop-motion animation, through a collage of text and illustrations. We had learned about soul mates, but what exactly is a soul mate? In my mind, I think it is pure and simple. Anyone is possible to be a soulmate, it can be a partner or a friend.

The audio is taken from the TV series “Dawson's Creek”. It is an American teen television series that tells the lives of a group of close friends, starting in high school and continuing through college. I cut out words from newspapers and magazines for subtitles and also used articles for animation background. I wanted to enhance the sense of storytelling with a textual background, which you can also interpret as a narration of one' s life. After that I hand-drew the illustration parts and collaged them together with the soundtrack.
